You may have seen / heard Sean Ashby backing up artists like Sarah McLachlan, Delerium, Mae Moore, Ginger and most recently Conjure 1. But you haven't heard him like this: performing his own musical creations.

Jack Tripper is a Vancouver based band fronted by Sean Ashby and featuring the talents of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Brian Minato. In 1999, Jack Tripper showcased to a full house at the Starfish Room in Vancouver and won a Georgia Strait Award - "Favorite Debut" for their self-titled CD. The video for "Sounds Familiar" received major airplay on Much Music and can also be found on "IndieBlast '00" an independent music compilation produced by RCD Music / Bhurr Records. A tour with I Mother Earth helped Jack Tripper land a song on the soundtrack for the movie "The Guilty" and another on the TV show " The Higher Ground". In 2000 they won another Georgia Straight Music Award for "Favorite Local Live Act" and showcased at NXNE in Toronto, followed by an IndieBlast spot at the Molson Simulbash on Canada Day in Ottawa.

Molson liked the band so much that they added the song "Sounds Familiar" to their summer promotional cd sampler, which was found in boxes of Molson Canadian from July 17th to September 17th. The same song can be found on CD samplers in conjunction with Clearnet and CDPlus.com, and Mike's Hard Lemonade. Look out for the new record "Nine Easy Pieces".
